2nd Annual Poverty Symposium seeks a homeless-free community For the second year in a row, the Enrichment Services Program has sponsored a forum that carefully examined homelessness and poverty in our community with some exciting new dimensions added this year. Studies in the past have identified some of the challenges that face this region such as those identified in the “Moving Forward Together” report and other assessments done of the city. With the help of the University of Georgia’s Fanning Institute and scores of committed citizens, “Building Prosperity” is in the process of crafting a new direction for Columbus with an eye toward solutions to eliminate homelessness and poverty over 10 years. Building coalitions with citizens, agencies and governments at all levels, these wonderful visions of the future might just be made possible.   Congratulations, team.

Caught up in the civil rights movement in Atlanta in the ‘60’s, he dedicated his life to Martin Luther King’s non-violent approach to transforming America, one step at a time. These race relations breakfasts are held at Ruth Ann's on Veterans Parkway. Breakfast begins at 7:25 am and you are encouraged to bring a friend with you. $7.00 is asked of regular members.
